Amusing Ourselves To Death5★: This book is a must for anyone wanting to understand the journey we have travelled over the past 20 years to arrive at the present moment; scrolling, algorithm fuelled hell-scape.
*bookshelf review* by Neil Postman
M Train3.5★: A dream woven into normality. Not Just Kids, but still essential reading.
Completed: 8th January 2025 by Patti Smith
The Doors of Perception5★: Seminal and inspiring. A possibility of a new world.
Completed: 4th February 2025 by Aldous Huxley
The Will to Change4.5★: When I first read this book, in 2022, it bestowed upon me a new lens through which I could relate to my male counterparts. I suddenly discovered empathy, during a moment in time when men were not being afforded very much of it. They still are victims of the patriarchy, and are still being harmed by it. This inspired eloquent, nuanced discussions at my book club. Remarkable.
Re-read: July 2025

The Year of Magical Thinking 2★: I didn't like this, but I don't like Joan Didion's writing that much.

What We Talk About When We Talk About Love 3.5★: Not my favourite Raymond Carver, I personally prefer Short Cuts, but his writing is perfect to me. I am deeply moved and inspired by the effect his short stories can have upon me. Like a breeze on the back of a neck.
Completed: June 2025
